Anotace
V originále
In late 2005 and early 2006, Czech authorities discovered that significant amounts of municipal waste were being illegally transported into Bohemia from Germany. This paper summarizes the recent history of the waste transports, identifies the stakeholders involved, and describes relevant policies. The purpose of the paper is to clarify the historical context of the illegal dumping, which provides the basis for understanding the causes of the problem and the search for effective solutions. The paper concludes with comments and opinions about the causes of illegal waste transport into the Czech Republic and speculation about future directions for waste transport regulation.
