The insufficient transfer of innovations from university environment into practice in one of the weaknesses of the Slovak universities. The insufficient institutional and legal solution of this issue by the universities is one of the possible causes of the present unsatisfactory state, the results of which can be seen in the international ratings of the Slovak universities. Thea are unable to compete with other foreign universities, especially in demonstrating their success in the fields of science and Research that are highly rated and can contribute to achieving an international reputation. Therefore, in the article we concentrate on the analysis of the in institutional prerequisites for the transfer of the innovation from the Slovak universities into practice and we propose measures for their creation and improvement
