Abstract

El objetivo de la comunicación que aquí se propone será estudiar la relación entre tres posibles e inseparables facetas del “objeto diccionario”: el diccionario como testigo de la historia del léxico; el diccionario como género textual perteneciente al discurso pedagógico; y diccionario como símbolo de la soberanía cultural y nacional. En concreto, vamos a analizar los tres aspectos como fenómenos interrelacionados y vamos a fijarnos en su evolución a través del tiempo en las ediciones del Catauro de Fernando Ortiz (Un catauro de cubanismos, de 1923; y Nuevo catauro de cubanismos, de 1985). Como botón de muestra vamos a utilizar las voces de origen gitano documentadas en la obra y prestaremos atención a cómo iba cambiando su presencia en ambas ediciones, tanto en la macroestructura, como en la microestructura, para saber: a) qué valor tienen estos datos de corte lexicográfico para la historia del léxico del espanol cubano; b) qué repercusiones tuvieron estos en el aspecto pedagógico de la obra; c) de qué manera se reflejaron en ellos los sucesos históricos ocurridos en Cuba en el siglo XX y qué consecuencias han podido tener en la evolución del valor identitario del diccionario entre una edición y otra.

Abstract (in English)

The aim of the paper is to study reletions between three aspects of the "case dictionary": a dictionary as a witness of the history of vocabulary; a dictionary as a text genre that belong to the pedagogical discourse; and a dictionary a symbol of cultural and national sovereignty. More specifically, we are going to analyze the three aspects as interrelated phenomena and we will pay attention to their evolution in editions of Catauro by Fernando Ortiz (Un catauro de cubanismos, de 1923; and Nuevo catauro de cubanismos, de 1985). As an example we will take Gypsy loanwords documented in the dictionary. We will pay attention to the fact how they presence were changing in both editions (in macrostructure as well as in the microstructure) in order to come to know: a) what importance these lexicographic data have for the history of vocabulary of Cuban Spanish; b) what impact they had on the pedagogical aspect of the dictionary in question; c) haw they reflect the historica changes ocuured in Cuba in the XXth century and what consecuences they could have on the evolution of the identitary value of the dictionary between one edition and the other.
