Anotace
Tectonics of the nothern part of the Moravian Karst was studied in detail by quite few geologists in the past, but their interpretations were significantly different (e.g. Zapletal, 1922; Kettner, 1949; Dvořák, 1960). Nevertheless, many questions still remained in the air and the structure of the entire area wasn’t sufficiently solved. Therefore, we decided to it figure out. Here we present the results of orientational analisys we did. Almost horizontal thrusts are the most significant tectonic features in the area. This was also noticed by Kettner (1949) and he implemented his findings into his cross-sections, but he never put this findings into his maps. Therefore, structural map of the area has been created as well and it involves tectonic contact zone of Brno massif with Devonian sediments of Moravian Karst (see Fig. 1). This is a remarkable example of thrust tectonics, whrere crystalline unit was thrusted over its autochthonous sedimentary cover in Variscan Orogeny, shows how complicated thrust tectonics can be.
