Problematic points of TALIF measurement at atmospheric pressure were analyzed, including laser-surface interactions and fast quenching of excited species. A high atomic hydrogen concentration was found in the coplanar surface DBD, which is in agreement with the high power density in the thin discharge channel. It was shown that the dielectric surface serves as a source or reservoir of hydrogen radicals. Whereas in both DBDs addition of oxygen led to a fast decrease of atomic hydrogen concentration, some optimum flow of oxygen for production of atomic hydrogen in the flame atomizer was found. ER -
