The aim of the presentation was to consider benefits of description of Finnish nominal inflection in terms of cognitive grammar and also whether experience gained from learning and teaching strategies of Finnish nominal inflection can be used to back up the theoretical approach. The presentation argued that at least in some respects, such as mastering schematic representations of morphological behavior at different levels of schematicity or considering basic units of language, description based on cognitive grammar is in accordance with what is known about acquisition of Finnish nominal inflection.
