N2 - The essay summarizes the results of the national musical-sociological research on music preferences of university students in the Czech Republic which took place in 2015-2016, with the focus on the issue of contemporary classical music. At the end of the essay, the results are considered a starting point for music pedagogy at elementary and secondary schools.
