La paragonite a été exploités en altitude dans les Alpes occidentales depuis la fin du VIe millénaire jusqu´au début du IIIe. Les objets le plus anciens sont des anneaux-discques réguliers a couronne large et section triangulaire.

Paragonite schists and massive paragonite were exploited at high altitude in the western Alps from the end of the sixth millenium to the beginning of the third.The oldest artefacts made of this rock are disc-rings of regular shape, with a wide, triangular-section hoop.
