Parmi les registres de la littérature québécoise, la thématique communautaire semble constituer une constante qui n’est pas une simple mimésis conditionnée par un terreau sociologique ou social, mais plutôt le reflet d’une image de la littérature et de l’institution littéraire, car lié a la problématique de l’écriture et de la créativité (Belleau, 1999). Dans certains cas, l’aspect communautaire est inséparable de la poétique « implicite » (Jarosz, 1999). La spécificité appelle un questionnement qui touche la situation et la nature de la littérature québécoise. Autrement dit : la société et la littérature québécoises se sont-elles jamais constituées en nationales ? N’est-ce pas un leurre terminologique calqué indument sur une problématique européenne et associé a une situation qui a toujours été plus proche d’une communitas? Le réflexe communautaire, a défaut d’une identité nationale confirmée, n’est-il pas devenu une de ces caractéristiques de longue durée qui, durant les deux dernieres décennies, a revetu de nouveaux aspects, opposés a l’individualisme de la modernité et de la postmodernité ? C'est le but de notre questionnement.

Komunitní tematika představuje jakousi konstantu tématického rejstříku quebecké literatury. Nelze ji považovat za pouhou mimesi podmíněnou společenskou situací,ale spíše za odraz sebeobrazu literatury a literární instituce, jenž je úzce spjat s problematikou literární tvorby (Belleau, 1999) a v některých případech neoddělitelný od "implicitní poetiky" (Jarosz, 1999). Tato specifičnost vyvolává otázky o povaze quebecké literatury. Lze quebeckou literaturu vůbec považovat typologicky za národní literaturu? Nejedná se v tomto případě o terminologickou past a pouhý terminologický kalk evropské problematiky nevhodně vztažený na situaci, která sociologicky odpovídá stavu communitas? Je možné připustit myšlenku, že při absenci vyhraněné národní identity se komunitní reflex stal dlouhodobým faktorem literární situace, který se v posledních dvou desetiletích rozvinul do nových modernistických a postmoderních podob? To je směr našeho tázání.

Among the registers of Quebec literature, the community theme seems to constitute a constant which is not a simple mimesis conditioned by a sociological or social soil, but rather a reflection of an image of literature and the literary institution because linked to the problematic of writing and creativity (Belleau, 1999). In some cases, the community aspect is inseparable from the "implicit" poetics (Jarosz, 1999). The specificity calls for a questioning that touches the situation and the nature of the literature of Quebec. In other words, have the Quebec society and its literature ever been national? Is this not a terminological lure unduly modelled on a European problem and associated with a situation that was always closer to a communitas? May the community reflex, in the absence of a confirmed national identity, be considered as one of those long-lasting characteristics which, during the last two decades, have assumed new aspects, opposed to the individualism of modernity and of postmodernity? That is the purpose of our questioning.
