Anotace
V originále
Private international law is undergoing many challenges in the global era. Private international rules are influenced by the globalized world, electronization and new technologies. These challenges are, in my opinion, best witnessed in the area of private international law rules for intellectual property rights. The society in the 21st century is characterized as information society and its wealth is based on knowledge. Intellectual property is borderless on one hand. On the other, we must protect ideas and development. In this respect, private international law must provide for predictable and legally certain rules for cross-border aspects of the IP rights. Therefore, this article will focus on relevant PIL legal sources (especially of the EU origin) and will analyze its rules for intellectual property rights. The primary focus will be, inter alia, on the Regulation Brussels Ibis, Rome I and Rome II.
