Anotace

V originále

During the spring of 2017, a group of 12 pilgrims – students of Masaryk University and myself as their tutor – crossed France on foot. The goal of the 1540-km pilgrimage was to try to understand if the prolonged movement would transform our perception of the medieval object. In parallel, we wished to share our experience, through short movies, with a larger audience. The project was life-changing in many ways: our bodies were transformed by the experience, our outlook as well, but the most important transformation was certainly the dialogue with the local and global communities we met during our travels. The final crucial point was the unexpected wave of interest we faced once we returned home. The goal of this presentation is to understand how this project – Migrating Art Historians – transformed our perception of that heritage, but also how this experience has been shared, sometimes in very unexpected ways.
