Until recently, the manuscript of German translation of Aesthetics of Dramatic art rested without any notice in Otakar Zich's estates in the National Museum. Though this handwritten, 1300-page document is dedicated to Zich's wife Marie and has also a word and name index, the name of the translator is missing. In the presentation we'd like to discuss existing documents and propose hypothesis of the origin of the translation and the person of its author. Firstly, we describe the archival material, then we analyze the linguistic and terminological specifics of the translation. Finally, we will offer several paths that may led from the manuscript to further research of Zich's position in the field of interwer scholarship as well as towards current understanding of his theory of the art.

Bez povšimnutí ležel až donedávna v pozůstalosti Otakara Zicha překlad Estetiky dramatického umění ze 30. let. Rukopis, v rozsahu 1300 listů, je sice dedikován manželce autora, a opatřen rejstříkem, ale samotné jméno překladatele chybí. V příspěvku se pokusíme na základě dochovaných dokumentů a dalšího výzkumu, i jazykové stránky pořízeného překladu, navrhnout možné hypotézy o vzniku překladu a osobě překladatele. Nejprve archiválii popíšeme, následně se budeme věnovat jazykovým a terminologickým specifikům překladů. Závěrem nabídneme několik cest, které od této písemnosti vedou k průzkumu pozice Zicha v tehdejší vědě a k dnešnímu chápání jeho koncepce porozumění umění.
