The conference contribution deals with the issue of calculated ambivalence in David Cameron’s EU discourse. The author argues that it is the largely competing discourses and rival imaginings on the EU that help explain the high degree of ambivalence, paradox and misunderstanding associated with Cameron’s EU policy.
