Abstract
This paper focuses on articulation of national identity on social media, specifically Twitter. First, it tackles with the issue of online identity. Also, it delineates the means of negotiation of identity on social platform such as Twitter. Finally, the paper illustrates some of the points raised by presenting a juxtaposition of American and Canadian identity online as articulated by the highest representatives of their countries at the moment, Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau, respectively.
