This paper deals with film music and its use in music education. It is created as a response to author's PhD-thesis, specifically to a chapter related to the pedagogical aspects of film music. Inasmuch as this area is not usually grounded in the school curriculum, the presented text shows an overview of domestic and foreign research, publications, periodicals and their brief description. The methodological and didactic outputs are considered as the most important. This literature review is then completed with practical examples of educational using of film music and their prospective connection with current dispositions in music education.
