The paper focuses on the area of insurance and bets. The main objectives of this paper are to compare both terms, find similar and dissimilar attributes and decide whether these terms can be used as synonyms or not. The results show that these terms have some similar attributes, such as working with randomness, risk and probability, but also dissimilar attributes that disallow considering them to be synonyms. The methods of description, analysis and comparison have been used in this paper.
