The purpose of this paper is to introduce some personal names of people and animals within the texts of the Mabinogion collection which bear a traceable connection to the animal realm and to present their etymologies together with a number of recognised equivalents in other Celtic languages. The following steps consist in mapping their mutual relations and etymological analyses of the proper names.
