Abstract
This is the introductory chapter to a special issue of Cognitive Linguistic Studies, entitled "Cognitive Linguistic Aspects of Information Structure and Flow". The introduction presents an overview of both the fields of cognitive linguistics and information structure studies, with emphasis placed on their intersection. The introduction also summarizes the articles that appear in the special issue.
