Kniha koncentruje současnou znalost o plemeni krétského koně, tzv. georgalidiko, archeologické a oseologické doklady importu a chovu koně od doby bronzové na ostrově. Zabývá se také působením přírodního prostředí, které zformovalo konkrétní plemeno.

The book concentrates current knowledge about the Cretan horse breed, the so-called Georgalidiko, archaeological and osseological evidence of horse import and breeding since the Bronze Age on the island. It also deals with the effects of the natural environment that has shaped a particular breed.
