Abstract

La migration de populations est un phénomène historique et culturel qui existe depuis l’aube des temps. Or, relayées par les médias, notamment au XXIe siècle, les migrations massives vers et à travers notre vieux continent sont devenues depuis une dizaine d’années un objet d’intérêt non seulement pour les sociologues, politologues, ethnologues, historiens, mais aussi pour les linguistes et les critiques littéraires, ne serait-ce que parce que les populations migrantes – lors de leurs passages hors de leur domicile d’origine – posent divers problèmes et questions auxquels les Européens ne prêteraient peut-être pas attention s’ils n’étaient pas confrontés à l’arrivée de peuples dont ils ne soupçonnaient parfois même pas l’existence. Ainsi, depuis la première décennie du IIIe millénaire, la thématique de la migration nourrit les débats et les réactions des critiques littéraires, traducteurs, linguistes sont variées ; même les didacticiens se voient désormais confrontés à la problématique de l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère par les enfants aussi bien que par les adultes migrants.

Abstract (in English)

Population migration is a historical and cultural phenomenon that has existed since the dawn of time. Now, relayed by the media, especially in the twenty-first century, mass migrations to and through our old continent have become an object of interest not only for sociologists, political scientists, ethnologists and historians, but also for linguists and literary critics, if only because migrant populations - during their passages outside their original homes - raise various problems and questions that Europeans might not pay attention to if they were not confronted with the arrival of peoples whose existence they sometimes did not even suspect. Thus, since the first decade of the third millennium, the theme of migration has fueled debates and reactions from literary critics, translators, and linguists; even didacticians are now confronted with the problem of learning a foreign language by migrant children as well as by adults.
