In 2021 werd de MOOC 'Nederlands voor gevorderde anderstaligen' gelanceerd: een gratis online taalcursus met instapniveau B2 met oefeningen rond twaalf colleges van de Universiteit van Nederland en Vlaanderen. Voorafgaand aan de ontwikkeling van dit lesmateriaal werd een distinctietest afgenomen bij veertig respondenten die veertien audiofragmenten als Nederlands-Nederlands of Belgisch-Nederlands moesten identificeren. In 2022 werd dit experiment herhaald met een nieuwe groep (half)gevorderde NVT-studenten en uitgebreid met vragen die peilen naar hun kennis van uitspraakverschillen en de fonetisch indicatoren die zij bij de distinctie gebruiken. Tijdens de presentatie werd verslag uitgebracht van de resultaten die ook didactische implicaties hebben.

In 2021, the MOOC ‘Nederlands voor gevorderde anderstaligen’ (Dutch for advanced students) was launched: a free online language course (entry level B2) with exercises around twelve lectures from the University of the Netherlands and Flanders. Prior to the development of this MOOC, a distinction test was conducted in which forty participants had to identify fourteen audio fragments as Dutch-Dutch or Belgian-Dutch. In 2022, this experiment was repeated with a new group of intermediate and advanced students of Dutch as a Foreign Language and was expanded with questions that assess their knowledge of pronunciation differences and probe the phonetic indicators they use to distinguish between the mentioned varieties of Dutch. During the presentation, the results and their didactic implications were discussed.
