Hands-on introduction to basics of data science with Python language and standard machine learning libraries are presented. The reader (student or researcher) will get a smooth and concise introduction to the state-of-the-art tools of data analysis. This is an introductory chapter containing basics of programming in Python-how to start and how to create a simple program that reads data and draws basic plots summarising statistical descriptions of a sample/data. The tutorial will be continued in the next chapter.
