Abstract
The submission focuses on the legal relationship between children and their parents in interwar Czechoslovakia with special attention paid to the legal status of a mother. It uses the comparison of the 1811 Austrian Civil Code with the interwar civil code proposals and drafts to illustrate how social attitudes towards family and the role of women had changed by the 1920’s and 30’s and how they were embedded into contemporary legislative proposals.
