Abstract
In the original language
This chapter aims to analyze a long-term process. To begin, we will attempt to identify a number of periods or landmarks of particular importance for the relationship between the center and the periphery of the literary field. In addition, this chapter will serve to compare this instance of deperipheralization with similar processes in other fields. In accomplishing these goals, emphasis will be placed on the peculiarities of what has been generally termed the Spanish-American context. The Lack of Coherence in the Field The Political Power of Autonomy The Academic Field Periodization
