This article provides the structure of the semantic field “higher education” in Russian. The selected material addresses the tasks of distinguishing the basic and peripheral lexemes of the field. The research results described in this article serve as material for a contrastive analysis of the vocabulary of the semantic field "higher education" in Russian and Czech languages
