Cette étude propose d’analyser l’intégration de l’emprunt à l’arabe dialectal wesh dans la langue française et dans les habitudes langagières des Français. En passant par le langage des banlieues communément défini comme « argotique » et la culture hip-hop, notamment le rap, cet emprunt a subi plusieurs glissements sémantiques importants et de nombreuses variantes graphiques. Les diverses définitions de ce mot dans le Petit Robert 2023 (version papier) et dans le Wiktionnaire (en ligne), ainsi que les recherches statistiques dans les corpus issus d’Internet, laissent apparaître des évolutions, des variations linguistiques et des tendances générées essentiellement par des fonctions sociolinguistiques.

Tato studie analyzuje integraci arabské dialektové výpůjčky wesh do francouzského jazyka a do jazykových návyků Francouzů. Prostřednictvím jazyka městských periférií běžně definovaného jako „slang“ a hip-hopová kultura, zejména rap, tato výpůjčka prošla několika důležitými sémantickými posuny a četnými grafickými variantami. Různé definice tohoto pojmu v Petit Robert 2023 (papírová verze) a Wiktionnaire (online), stejně jako statistický výzkum v internetových korpusech, odhalují vývoj, jazykové variace a trendy generované v podstatě sociolingvistickými funkcemi.

This study analyzes the integration of the Arabic dialectal loan wesh into the French language and the language habits of the French. Through the suburban language commonly defined as "slang" and hip hop culture, particularly rap, this borrowing has undergone several important semantic shifts and numerous graphic variants. The various definitions of this term in the Petit Robert 2023 (paper version) and the Wiktionnaire (online), as well as statistical research in Internet corpora, reveal evolutions, linguistic variations and trends generated essentially by sociolinguistic functions.
