The contribution to the project organized by the University of Lille and the University of Ghent aimed to cross, based on the concept of the Sublime, the aesthetic theories of Reading against the idea of metahistory (Haydn White 1973) and Frank Ankersmit's narrativist philosophy in order to examine their relevance to the reception of early modern novels.
