This hackathon is intended for both newcomers and experienced developers and will include a learnathon part during the first days. Participants are free to work on any topic related to ImgLib2 and/or BigDataViewer, be it improving the core libraries, or using them in other projects. We will be hosting the authors or the key contributors of the ImgLib2, BigDataViewer, BigVolumeViewer, BigStitcher, QuPath, Mastodon, Elephant and sciview software packages. Our aim is that the hackathon will be a melting pot of ideas where you will have the opportunity to work alongside, and learn from experienced developers and mentors, helping you to move forward with your own image processing and visualization projects. We now especially invite new developers, who are interested in contributing to this community - either developing existing or new tools or handling data using above mentioned or related software. This hackathon could be for you, even if you have no or limited previous experience using these software. Prior experience of programming (ideally Java but not strictly limited to that programming language) is however a requirement. This hackathon aims to provide an inclusive platform where everyone can thrive.
