I am writing to address a misinterpretation in the recently published article, "Pharmacovigilance of drug-drug interactions: A pharmacokinetic study on the combined oral administration of lurasidone and clozapine in rats by using LC-MS/MS" by Siddig et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpba.2024.116473). The study investigates the pharmacokinetic interactions between lurasidone and clozapine, reporting reductions in the AUC and Cmax of clozapine upon co-administration. However, the authors’ assertion that these findings imply an increased risk of adverse effects from clozapine warrants correction.
