In this talk, I examine the ontological and linguistic evidence in favor of distinguishing between spatial and social collections. The ontological evidence comes from different conceptualizations of the two categories in question. The linguistic evidence comes from their different grammatical behavior in various Slavic languages, specifically different derivational and semantic properties.
