Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of acute re-spiratory infections and seasonal hospitalisations, particularlyamong immunocompromised adults. In patients with hema-tological malignancies, RSV can cause severe complications,including pneumonia, respiratory failure, and death, especiallyin those with lymphopenia, recent HSCT, or comorbidities .Although antivirals, monoclonal antibodies, and vaccines existfor other high-risk groups, their efficacy in this populationremains uncertain. Screening and diagnostic protocols areinconsistent, treatments are often empiric, and hematologicalpatients are largely excluded from clinical trials. Moreover, com-parative data versus influenza and SARS- CoV-2 are limited, im-peding the development of targeted, evidence-based preventionand management strategies for this vulnerable group.
