Cette étude explore la dimension axiologique des insultes genrées dans le rap francophone et, plus largement, dans différents espaces discursifs. En combinant une analyse lexicographique, une recherche dans les corpus (FrTenTen, French Trends et RapCor boosted v1) et une enquête sociolinguistique menée auprès d'étudiants, nous examinons la circulation et la perception de plusieurs lexèmes, notamment bitch, biatch, hoe et surtout tana. Alors que bitch et biatch semblent bien établis dans les pratiques discursives, tana apparaît comme un néologisme identitaire, rapidement diffusé via TikTok et les réseaux sociaux depuis 2024. Largement défini comme une insulte sexuellement péjorative, il est également réinterprété à travers des usages ironiques ou amicaux, mettant en évidence des processus de resémantisation. Le cas de tana illustre ainsi le double statut des insultes genrées : instruments de marginalisation d'une part, et objets de réappropriation et de plasticité discursive d'autre part, observables tant dans les paroles de rap que dans des pratiques linguistiques plus larges.

This study explores the axiological dimension of gendered insults in francophone rap and, more broadly, across different discursive spaces. Combining lexicographic analysis, corpus-based exploration (FrTenTen, French Trends and RapCor boosted v1), and a sociolinguistic survey conducted among students, we examine the circulation and perception of several lexemes, including bitch, biatch, hoe, and especially tana. While bitch and biatch appear well established in discursive practices, tana emerges as a identitary neologism, rapidly diffused through TikTok and social media since 2024. Largely defined as a sexually derogatory insult, it is also reinterpreted through ironic or friendly uses, highlighting processes of resignification. The case of tana thus illustrates the dual status of gendered insults: instruments of marginalization on the one hand, and objects of reappropriation and discursive plasticity on the other, observable both in rap lyrics and in wider linguistic practices.
