V originále

The origins of PQ in the 1960s Czechoslovakia and even in the previous years went hand in hand with several “artistic” and “non-artistic” activities. The paper briefly discusses the personalities of theatrical environment and institutions that shifted both the scenography practice and thinking about the discipline, e.g., František Tröster, Josef Svoboda, Miroslav Kouřil, Vladimír Jindra; Scenographic Laboratory (founded 1957, operating under this name till1963) Institute of Scenography (operating from 1963 to 1974), etc. The aim is to revise and elaborate the up-to-date research in this area 60 years after and formulate follow-up research questions (elaborating on Havlíčková Kysová 2011, 2016, 2023; Příhodová 2011, 2014; Havlíčková Kysová and Příhodová 2012, 2014) that can shed a new light on the PQ as then and now “meeting place of scenographic worlds”, thoughts, and worldviews. The main questions aim at “voicing” the scenography, i.e., the interrelation between scenography as an emerging autonomous discipline and its theoretical reflection and how theoretical thoughts on the discipline/scenography contributed to shaping PQ, scenography, and vice versa. Further, the paper aims to focus on scenography as, in time, a changeable concept stemming from and reshaping the artistic, cultural, and intercultural context(s).
