V originále
Czech structuralism has an almost century-long history. The establishment of specific scientific research tasks and opinions, i.e. the creation and programmatic formulation of visions, has been present in Czech structuralism since its inception. However, this is inseparably linked to constant critical reflection (revision) of the set goals and the means of achieving them. Despite undergoing numerous changes during the 20th century, whether due to its own internal development or external circumstances, the theoretical and methodological basis of Czech structuralism remained essentially unchanged. In this context, the following question can be posed: What is the current position of structuralism in Czech linguistics, literary studies, and Slavic studies? Which of the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Czech structuralists have remained unused? Which areas of the project could be further developed? The lecture is conceived as an assessment of structuralism as applied in Czech literary studies and Slavic studies.
