Anotace

V originále

The chapter examines the internal organisation of the functional domain between TP and CP from a cartographic perspective. The chapter treats the rigid ordering of clitics as evidence for which morphosyntactic features are projected there and in what order, bringing clitics into the cartographic investigation of this domain. Drawing on cross- linguistic generalisations from more than thirty languages and varieties, it develops its argument progressively, moving from relatively simple clitic systems to more complex ones. In doing so, it offers a more precise reconstruction of the universal functional sequence between TP and CP and establishes a robust baseline for future research on clitic ordering and the derivation of clitic clusters
