Abstract

Publikace je po roce 1980 první ucelenější prací české provenience, která se věnuje problematice mezinárodních organizací. Autorský záměr sledoval dva cíle: na jedné straně přinést publikaci, která by mohla sloužit jako studijní materiál pro studenty středních a vysokých škol a na druhé straně přispět k aktuálním diskusím pohledem podloženým racionálními argumenty. Studie je rozdělena do třech větších celků: teoretický úvod do problematiky mezinárodních organizací, univerzální organizace (Mezinárodní měnový fond, Organizace pro ekonomickou spolupráci a rozvoj, Organizace spojených národů, Světová banka, Světová obchodní organizace) a partikulární organizace (Evropská unie, Organizace pro bezpečnost a spolupráci v Evropě, Organizace severoatlantické smlouvy, Organizace zemí vyvážejících ropu, Rada Evropy, Sdružení států jihovýchodní Asie, Severoamerická dohoda o volném obchodu). Jednotlivým kapitolám byla stanovena jednotná základní struktura. Na počátku každé kapitoly se nachází tabulka s heslovitými základními informacemi, v první části kapitoly je provedena deskripce dané organizace a v části druhé je autorem kapitoly vybrán jeden konkrétní problém považovaný za dostatečně signifikantní pro danou organizaci.

Abstract (in English)

This publication is the first "in depth" study dealing. With questions regarding international organizations, which was published in the Czech republic after 1980. It has two main aims: first, to serve as a text that could be used as study material for high school and university students; and second, to make a rational contribution to the current debate on the subject. The publication is divided into three main parts: the first part consists of theoretical introduction to the problematic of international organizations; the following two parts deal with the worldwide organizations (International Monetary Fund, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, United Nations Organization, World Trade Organization) and regional organizations (European Union, Organization on Security and Cooperation in Europe, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Council of Europe, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, North American Free Trade Agreement) Each of chapters focuses on one particular organization, and all the chapters have the same basic structure: at the beginning of the chapter there is a chart with essential data followed by a description of the organization. In the second part one particular problem significant for the given organization is analysed in detail.
