Our results indicate that the involvement of 5-HT2 rather than 5-HT1 receptor is important for methamphetamine reward properties what corresponds with the outcomes of methamphetamine discriminative studies. Thus, 5-HT2 receptor antagonists referred to attenuate the withdrawal signs of drugs of abuse could be of benefit also in treatment of methamphetamine dependence, mainly in addicts with depressive disorders.
