Sous la distinction des "spiritus increduli" et des "iusti", on peut deviner la croyance cathare répandue selon laquelle il y a une catégorie d'anges déchus destinés a etre sauvés (Rainier, De heresi, Tractatus de hereticis, Jacques Fournier). Cette observation se trouve renforcée par le témoignage du Tractatus de hereticis, selon lequel certains cathares associaient un type spécial d'anges a la citation de Jean 10,16, qui suit immédiatement la mention des "esprits incrédules" dans l'Interrogatio.
