Zkoumání dějin německého profesionálního divadla v Brně závisí na stavu a množství dochovaných dokumentů. Oddělení dějin divadla MZM má ve svých sbírkách některé materiály, jako například rozsáhlou kolekci divadelních cedulí, anebo tzv. Theaterchronik, jež mohou tento výzkum podstatně rozšířit.

Research in the domain of German theatre in Brno depends on survived archive resources. The Deaprtment of Theatre Studies at the Moravian Museum in Brno preserves some interesting materials as for example a collection of old theatre posters or the so called "Theaterchronik". These archive documents are very important for the research in the domain of the history of German theatre in Brno.
