Šimek, S.Pekárek, V.Prukner CY - Praha SN - 9788087026014 KW - coplanar barrier discharge cross-correlation spectroscopy N2 - The evolution of the luminosity of the coplanar barrier discharge in the single-filament mode was studied by the technique of cross-correlation spectroscopy. The 2D spatially and temporally resolved luminosity of the second positive system of molecular nitrogen (at 337.1 nm) was recorded. From these experimental data, the propagation of the cathode-directed ionizing wave is clearly seen. Experimentally observed luminosity distribution provides supporting evidence for the existence of an electron cloud over the anode. Behaviour of the radial dimensions of the microdischarge depending on the axial coordinate is discussed. It is shown that the radial size of the microdischarge is the smallest in the interelectrode space and increases towards both electrodes. The 2D luminosity distributions for the coplanar barrier discharge are compared with the corresponding experimental results obtained for the volume barrier discharge. ER -
