V originále

Das Ziel des Beitrags ist die Ähnlichkeiten zwischen der byzantinischen Betteldichtung des 12. Jahrhunderts (Ptochoprodromos, Theodoros Prodromos, Manganeios Prodromos) und den antiken Autoren (Homer, Hipponax, Aristophanes, Lukian) aufzuzeigen. Sowohl die motivischen als auch die formalen Analogien werden einer näheren Betrachtung untezogen. Der Schwerpunkt der Analyse liegt in der Frage, ob es sich einfach um Kontinuität der Gattung und der Motive handelt, oder ob man eine bewusste Inspiration und beabsichtigte Anklänge finden kann.

Příspěvek se zabývá byzantskou žebravou poezií 12. století, konkrétně je jeho cílem zmapování paralel k této poezii v antické řecké literatuře. Po krátkém úvodu charakterizujícím byzantskou žebravou poezii se základě zjištěných analogií se pokouším rozhodnout, zda lze konstatovat přímý vliv antických autorů na autory byzantské či zda jsou podobnosti způsobeny jinými faktory. Věnuji se paralelám mezi texty Ptochoprodromik, žebravých básní Theodora Prodroma a Manganeia Prodroma na jedné straně, a Homéra, Hipponakta z Efesu, Aristofana a Lukiana na straně druhé.

The article deals with 12th-century Byzantine begging poetry. Its goal is to map the parallels between this poetry and Classical Greek literature. Parallels were searched for between the texts of the Ptochoprodromika, the begging poems of Theodore Prodromos and Manganeios Prodromos, and the works of Homer, Hipponax of Ephesus, Aristophanes and Lucian. Real intertextual dialogue can be ascertained only in case of the Homeric texts, while each of the three examined Byzantine texts makes allusions to them in a different way. As far as Hipponax, Aristophanes and Lucian are concerned, similar motives and literary techniques could be traced, and to a certain extent also a similar view of life represented by the heroes of their poems. These similarities account for the typological relationship of the analyzed texts and also for literary continuity, nevertheless, they can by no means be understood as a direct proof of the influence of the above mentioned Classical authors on the Byzantine begging poets. Therefore, such analogies do not represent a relevant contribution to the discussion about the educational background of the author, or authors, of the Ptochoprodromika.
