V originále

La naissance d’un genre littéraire est conditionnée par plusieurs facteurs. Le roman policier, appartient à la grande famille des genres romanesques. Né durant la première moitié du 19e siècle aux Etats unis, le genre acquiert rapidement en France une autonomie en s’inspirant des récits « judiciers ». Au tournant du siècle, le roman policier européen, qui se développe dans le sens du roman à énigme, assiste à la naissance d’une nouvelle branche américaine : le roman appelé plus tard « dur-à-cuir ». Dans ma contribution, j’aimerais proposer l’étude de l’arbre généalogique du genre policier tout en se concentrant sur ses liens de parenté avec ses propres variétés nées dans différents pays ainsi qu’avec d’autres genres romanesques – ses cousins germains.

Zrození nového literárního žánru je podmíněno mnoha faktory. Detektivní román patří do velké rodiny románových žánrů. Vznikl v první polovině 19. století ve Spojených státech amerických a rychle se rozšířil i ve Francii. Na přelomu století, kdy se evropský detektivní román rozvíjí především klasickým směrem, se ve Spojených státech rodí tzv. drsná americká škola. Tento příspěvek si dává za úkol prozkoumat genealogii detektivního žánru a soustředit se především na jeho jednotlivé druhy a na jeho vztahy s žánry detektivnímu románu příbuznými.

The making of a literary genre is determined by many factors. The crime novel belongs to a large family of fiction genres. It was created in the early 19th century in the USA and quickly found its way to Europe where, at the turn of the 20th century, crime stories were very popular. However, in the 1920s, America developed the so-called hard-boiled style. In this essay I would like to concentrate on the relationships between the individual types of crime fiction and this kind of genre as a whole.
