The development of social services will be shortly presented in the first part especially the changes associated with the new Law on social services. Here are the new paths to the organization, providing and financing in this field. One of the news is the development of social services on the local level with using a community planning as the method of macro social work. The second part is focused on community planning in Brno town. Here are presented the risks and opportunities of usage this method of social work on examples about services for the elderly people.
