Abstract

Avtor analiziruet obraz pomešika Manilova v poeme N. V. Gogola Mjortvye duši. V statje predstavlen odin iz vozmožnych variantov interpretacii etogo obraza v kontekste sovremennogo obšestva. Novoe videnie rasširjaet ponjatija "mjortvaja duša" i "nežiznennost". Krome etogo, zdes analiziruetsa specifika recepcii Manilova v diapazone ot sočuvstvija do otvrašenija. Avtor takže rassmatrivaet osobennosti obraza Manilova v filme Pavla Lungina Delo o mjortvych dušach (2005).

Abstract (in Czech)

Autor ve svém příspěvku pojednává o postavě statkáře Manilova, která je jednou z nejzajímavějších postav v poemě v próze N. V. Gogola Mrtvé duše. Autor analyzuje jednu z možných variant interpretace této postavy v kontextu dnešní společnosti. Nové vnímání rozšiřuje pojmy „mrtvá duše“ a „bezduchost“. Kromě toho jsou zde analyzována specifika současné recepce postavy Manilova od soucitu k odporu. Dále autor zkoumá vlastnosti postavy Manilova ve filmu Dělo o mjortvych dušach r. 2005 (rež. Pavel Lungin).

Abstract (in English)

This contribution analyzes one of the most interesting characters of N.V. Gogol’s poem Dead Souls – the character of landowner Manilov. The author of the contribution offers a possible variant of this character’s interpretation in the context of modern society. This reception allows broadening the concepts of ‘dead soul’ and ‘lifelessness’. Further, there is observed the specificity of contemporary reception of Manilov’s character, fluctuating from sympathy to disgust. In conclusion, there is an analysis of the realization of this character in Pavel Lungin’s film Delo o mjortvykh dushakh (2005) that gives an opportunity to illustrate changes in the poem’s reception at the end of 20th and the beginning of the 21st century.
