TY - CONF ID - 931142 AU - Bartošová, Kateřina PY - 2010 TI - The incidence of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) in Czech Adolescents and It s Relationship to Internalised Psychopatology and Risk Behaviour SN - 9788086174167 KW - posttraumatic stress KW - depression KW - anxiety KW - somatic problems KW - risk behaviour N2 - The aim of this research was to prove or disprove a relationship between measureable levels of PTS and internalised psychopathology (depression, anxiety, somatic problems) and risk behaviour (drugs, bullying, eating disorders, antisocial behaviour, risky sexual behaviour) on a group of czech adolescents. Data from the czech part of an international project „SAHA“ were analyzed in the process. 4,980 pupils from 150 different schools in the Czech republic completed the SAHA questionnaire. Post traumatic stress is a complex phenomenom which significantly influences people’s lives. A direct PTS link with depression (r=0,57, p<0.01), anxiety ((r=0,42, p<0.01) and somatic problems (r=0,47, p<0.01) was proved but there was little evidence of a link between PTS and risk behaviour. However some areas in which the relationship with PTS were strongest are recommended for further research. These include; antisocial behaviour, smoking cigarettes and eating disorders. ER -
