This paper presents the results of a small scale study focusing on the occurrence of hedges in literary criticism research articles (RA). The results of the research show that various types of hedges can be found in the above mentioned type of RAs and indicate that further research of this field may fruitfully contribute to our understanding of the concept of hedging.
