The paper deals with the development of the number and the structure of mergers in the Czech Republic during years 2001–2010. The aim is to analyze the development and the structure of trading companies mergers in the Czech Republic between the years 2001 – 2010. The database for the presented analysis was obtained from the Trade Bulletin and the Trade Register of the Czech Republic. In total, 5,715 records from the Trade Bulletin for the Czech Republic 2001–2010, section mergers and divisions, were examined. Out of these, based on selected criteria 2,684 records of mergers from 2001–2010 were used for further analysis.
