V originále

The presentation will describe a joint project of the non-profit organisation Class Acts, Faculty of Education and the Prague Municipal Library, which was supported by the American Embassy. The main goal of the project was to promote story reading and telling as a vehicle of acquiring English and developing reading literacy in children as well as supporting multiculturalism and volunteerism in Czech schools and libraries. The participants of the project included teacher trainees, practising teachers and parents, which enhanced sharing their experience and developing the links between the three parties. We will introduce the course design which the two institutions participating in the project (Class Acts and English Dept. at the Faculty of Education) developed and executed to prepare the participants for the work with the children. The outcomes of the project will be presented as well.

Prezentace popisuje projekt, jehož cílem bylo spojit rodiny a školy ve společné snaze rozvíjet cizojazyčné vyučování a zájem o četbu a kulturu anglicky mluvících zemí. Prezentace popisuje průběh a výsledky společného projektu MU, organizace ClassActs, Městské knihovny v Praze a Amerického velvyslanectví v Praze.
