Research on development using Kivy framework (www.kivy.org). Describe its capabilities, advantages and disadvantages. Create a practical guide on how to use the framework. Create a prototype of a showcase application as a proof of concept. This program is based on the Y Soft print management REST API. The goal of the thesis is to find out whether the framework is sufficient for commercial development.
The main aim is on the framework's programing language, its architecture, technical prerequisites for development, pricing and supported platforms. The work also covers the possibilities of access mobile core functions, for example sensors. The other topics are the framework's limitations, evaluation of the quality of its documentation, resources as well as the company behind the framework and its support process.
The application has to satisfy the following requirements. The user interface needs to follow the official Y Soft color theme. Deployable packages will be provided as a part of thesis. The user is able to log in to the system using a PIN. The user is able to manage print jobs such as preview and sending for print, add jobs into favorites, preview billing codes and access help.
The thesis will be realized with Y Soft Corporation, a.s., a strategic industrial partner of the Faculty of Informatics.
