Práca sa zameriava na zmenu architektúry webovej aplikácie Invenio, a jej nasadenie v škálovateľnom a odolnom prostedí. This thesis focuses on redesigning the Invenio web application to achieve a more secure architecture, as well as scalable and resilient deployment. As part of a research project at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, diagnostic computer games are being developed for testing primary school pupils. The games are implemented as web applications in PHP. Since the application processes diagnostic data about children, the security of the overall solution is of great importance.
In order to improve the security of the application, the student will be asked to (1) analyse and understand the existing code, the technologies used, the development cycle and the application deployment. Based on this analysis, (2) the student will design the migration of the web application from a monolithic solution running on a central server to a set of containers isolating the central data repository and individual short-lived instances of the application for running tests on individual groups of students. (3) The student will pilot the deployment of the containerised solution to the Kubernetes infrastructure, including automating the management and deployment of all containers in that infrastructure.
At all stages, the focus will be on the overall cybersecurity of the resulting application and its operation, the forward compatibility of the procedures used, and the long-term sustainability and automation of the operation of the overall solution.
